Strawberry Matcha Milkie
A dreamy, layered delight that blends creamy strawberry and white chocolate with botanical gin, topped with a soft cloud of matcha milk. Sweet, smooth, and oh-so-cute—this sip feels like a cozy tea party in a glass. Finished with a strawberry-flavored cookie for that perfect little crunch.
Inspired by the comfort of a matcha latte, but with a cheeky boozy twist—it’s like sipping on a boozy strawberry matcha latte, equal parts playful and indulgent.
The matcha powder used in this cocktail comes from Smile Tea, a Japan-based company known for its smooth, vibrant flavor and high-quality leaves—adding a touch of elegance and depth to the drink's creamy top layer.
Ingredients:
Cocktail
1 oz gin (I used a japanese gin)
0.5 oz strawberry liqueur + 0.5 oz white crème de cacao (or 1 oz strawberry liqueur only)
0.5 oz heavy whipping cream
Optional: strawberry-flavored cookie or strawberry for garnish
Matcha layer
0.5 tsp matcha powder (I used Smile Tea matcha powder)
1 oz cold milk (Nope, warm water isn’t necessary. You’re good 😂)
0.5 oz gin
Instructions:
Base layer
Add gin, strawberry liqueur, white creme de cacao and heavy whipping cream into the shaker.
Put an ice cube or two into the shaker and shake.
Pour out the drink into a cocktail glass.
Put in some ice cubes.
Matcha-milk mixture for top layer
Sift your matcha into a bowl—this helps create a smooth, lump-free mixture.
Pour in the milk.
Using a handheld milk frother or matcha whisk, whisk the mixture until you see some mini bubbles.
Pour in the gin and mix again. The mini bubbles might disappear, but that’s okay.
Pour the matcha milk mixture slowly over the ice cubes.
