Strawberry-Infused Mezcal
Strawberry-infused mezcal is a unique addition to classic cocktails, combining mezcal's smokiness with fresh strawberries' sweetness and tartness. This blend adds flavor to Margaritas, Negronis, and Mules, or can be used in new cocktails that showcase its berry taste. It's great for summer drinks, Valentine's Day, or whenever you want to enhance your favorite recipes with a smoky-sweet twist.
Ingredients:
1 cup (8oz) of mezcal
4-6 strawberries
Instructions:
Cut each strawberry into four pieces.
Put them into a container like a mason jar.
Pour in the mezcal.
To keep your strawberry-infused mezcal fresh and flavorful, store it in the refrigerator for up to one month.
When you like the taste, strain out all strawberry solids using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to prevent spoilage. I personally strain it out after about 1-2 weeks.
Transfer the infused mezcal into a clean, airtight glass bottle or jar and keep it chilled.
Enjoy!
Note: If you notice any off smells, cloudiness, or an unexpected change in taste, it's best to discard and make a fresh batch.
