Sencha Mule
A refreshing twist on the classic Moscow Mule, Sencha Mule blends the bold spice of ginger beer with the subtle, earthy notes of sencha-infused shochu (or sencha-infused vodka). Sencha, a traditional Japanese green tea rich in antioxidants, adds a light yet rich flavor. As the frozen sencha tea cubes melt, each sip deepens, creating a drink that evolves over time—crisp, invigorating, and effortlessly smooth.
Ingredients:
2 oz sencha-infused shochu or 1.5 oz sencha-infused vodka
Ice cubes (I used Ice cubes made from sencha tea)
3/4 oz lime juice
Optional: 1/4-1/2 oz honey syrup or simple syrup
4 oz ginger beer
Instructions:
Optional: Brew some sencha, let them cool, freeze them into ice cubes.
In a cup, add either sencha tea ice cubes or regular ice cubes.
Pour in the sencha-infused shochu (or vodka), lime juice, and honey syrup mixture. I recommend mixing the lime juice, honey syrup, and alcohol separately first to ensure everything blends evenly before adding it to the cup.
Top it off with ginger beer.
Optional: Garnish with lime.
Note: Instead of shaking the sencha-infused shochu (or vodka), lime juice, and honey syrup together in a shaker first, you can add everything directly to the cup from the start. I choose to shake it beforehand to ensure the thick honey syrup fully incorporates into the mixture before adding it into the cup full of ice.
